The latest UK weekly retail video game sales chart is in and everyone’s favorite plumber is back on top.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury released last week on the Nintendo Switch and took the No.1 spot for the week. It has become the fastest selling release of the year to-date although we haven’t seen many of those to be fair.
This game originally released on the Nintendo Wii U back in 2013 but the Switch version has performed much better. The launch sales are almost three times bigger than that of the original game. It is also the third biggest launch for a Mario platformer game on the Switch sitting behind Super Mario Odyssey and Super Mario 3D All-Stars.
Mario wasn’t the only new release making it into the top ten this past week as Bandai Namco’s Little Nightmares 2 took the No.7 spot for the week. The PlayStation 4 version sold the most with 43% of the sales followed by Switch with 37% and Xbox One with 18%.
Other than that there wasn’t much new to talk about. Spider-Man: Miles Morales did get a sales boost and moved up to the No.4 spot thanks to fresh stock of the PlayStation 5 arriving. You can see the full top ten for the past week below.
