The latest title from publisher EastAsiaSoft is another game from developer Zoo Corporation, Delicious! Pretty Girls Mahjong Solitaire. This is Zoo’s second title to be brought over to consoles following Bishoujo Battle Cyber Panic! Let’s see how their latest title turned out.
The game is pretty basic as you’ll be playing standard Mahjong Solitaire with the goal being to clear the boards and unlock new outfits for the various anime female characters on display. You start the game with seven different girls but can unlock a couple more while playing. Once you start unlocking the outfits while playing you can head to the Dressing Room and put them on the girls. The different outfits range from a Maid, Office Attire, School Uniforms and that sort of thing. It’s all just fan service material but there isn’t anything too raunchy outside of some large breasts.
If you’re not familiar with how the game is played you basically have stacks of Mahjong tiles piled up and you have to form matches to clear them from the board. It’s not quite so simple though as you’ll need to observe and think some steps ahead as should you run out of pairs it’s game over. There are a couple modes you can play in this game with one placing a time limit on you which naturally brings more pressure. As you form matches you will get some time added back onto the clock and if you form a number of matches quick enough, you’ll earn even more time back. The other mode removes the timer and lets you play it more at your own pace. I prefer to play without the timer but online leaderboards are present and only the mode with the timer lets you post scores onto them.
Other than what I’ve talked about there really isn’t much more to this game. The music is pleasant with some nice relaxing tunes to listen to as you match tiles. The girls talk briefly at times while you’re playing but it’s all in Japanese. Like most of EastAsiaSoft’s titles on PlayStation lately there is a very easy Platinum trophy to earn that should only take you around an hour or so.
Delicious! Pretty Girls Mahjong Solitaire is pretty much exactly what it’s called as you get the Mahjong Solitaire game with some anime waifu characters to look at along the way. It’s a game for those who love fan service or who just want to chill out and match some tiles. If either of those things are what you’re looking for and you got a few dollars to spare then pick it up.
