Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed what most of us always expected and that’s that the sequel to God of War is being delayed to 2022.
PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst confirmed this today in a Q&A post on the PlayStation Blog. Hulst said the following: “God of War started a little later than Horizon Forbidden West so we’ve made the decision to push that game out to next year, to ensure that Santa Monica Studio can deliver the amazing God of War game that we all want to play.”
In that same post it was confirmed that the new God of War will also be launching on the PlayStation 4 as well as the PlayStation 5. Hulst said: “Where it makes sense to develop a title for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5—for Horizon Forbidden West, the next God of War, Gran Turismo 7—we’ll continue looking at that. And if PlayStation 4 owners want to play that game, then they can. If they want to go on and play the PlayStation 5 version, that game will be there for them.”
