Award-Winning Games in 2022

The Game Awards 2022 have concluded, and Elden Ring has won the most prestigious award of the evening: Game of the Year. All of The Game Awards 2022 winners have been revealed, from best online casino of the year to best RPG. The nominations for the annual gaming awards presentation were unveiled last month. Gamers and Devs voted on the games, and the winners were announced between the debuts of new trailers.

This year, God of War: Ragnarok was nominated for ten awards and won seven of them. Elden Ring was not awarded Best Narrative, but it did win Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best Role-Playing Game. Let’s learn more about the award-winning games.

Elden Ring

FromSoftware, the developer of Dark Souls and Bloodborne, is releasing a new dismal fantasy role-playing game. The titular Elden Ring has been broken, leaving The Lands Between in ruins and groups competing for advantage. There will be a variety of animals and bosses for you to face.

It would be simplistic to suggest that this is simply more of the same; not only is each FromSoftware game inventive and exquisitely constructed, but they’ve never been this popular before. Elden Ring’s open-world ambitions produce brilliant and disorienting consequences.

God of War Ragnarök

God of War Ragnarok is a great production with flawless aesthetics, awe-inspiring grandeur, action that is as rewarding as it is terrible, and a universe that demands to be explored in its entirety. It is a stunning movie-like game, yet these are its least impressive accomplishments.

In a game in which a monstrous deity should be the scariest aspect, the most horrifying moments are not even violent, but are conveyed through evocative language and profound emotions. Some of the moments are; a former God of War, notorious for ruthlessly murdering his clan, finding the words to sympathize with loss; a dejected youngster pleading with his father to halt a cycle of self-destruction, and a sweet moment in the life of a lad who carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. The most impressive aspects of God of War: Ragnarok is its study of loss and love, grief and development, and fate and defiance. It is an amazingly well-written game that deconstructs Norse deity mythology and reconstructs it as a family voyage.

Stray is not simply an adventure RPG; it’s a psych-op designed for cat lovers, particularly those who grew up watching Homeward Bound. It’s not quite the same idea, but it’s the same strain of emotional sorrow to observe adorable animals enduring perilous situations. (We appreciate your time as Sassy, Sally Field.) The continual presence of Oni, a gentle little coward who wouldn’t last five minutes outside, influences my opinion of Stray’s protagonist; we anticipate that many cat owners — bless toxoplasmosis — would draw a similar conclusion. Most people dislike seeing animals suffer, so there is an immediate emotional and psychological involvement and a natural impulse to protect the young.

Final Fantasy XIV

It is tough to pinpoint what distinguishes the Final Fantasy series from other RPGs. Maybe it’s the stylish images and outstanding musical compositions. Perhaps it’s the combination of action and turn-based battle. It might be recognizable monsters and recurrent mascots. It might be the common themes of companionship, lofty fantasy, and discovery. Final Fantasy XIV Online embodies the series’ idea. Final Fantasy XIV Online in short is the series’ best game, now available. Therefore, its multiplayer focus distinguishes it from the franchise’s predominantly single-player offerings. Nonetheless, the game features a well-crafted narrative with outstanding dialogue, intelligent and very entertaining gaming mechanisms, stunning locales, and an absurd quantity of information. It also gives you control, making your generated avatar the story’s focal point.

The most recent update, Shadowbringers, adds even more material, such as new locales, plot developments, and gameplay adjustments. You should not miss out on Final Fantasy XIV Online, which seems like a sappy love letter to the game and its loyal fans.

Gran Turismo 7

At first look, Gran Turismo 7  takes a gamble by providing a similar experience to the original game from 1997: an idiosyncratically clean visual, an emphasis on genuine handling, and impossibly gleaming automobiles. As expected, some modifications have been beneath the hood, including one big change that will likely divide enthusiasts, but this 25-year-old engine is still very much operational. Sony-owned developer Polyphony Digital’s synergistic knowledge of PlayStation hardware has not altered. Gran Turismo has long been used to highlight the graphics prowess of Sony’s platforms, and Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 5 ably fulfills this purpose. While it remains compatible with the PlayStation 4, this game is breathtakingly gorgeous on the newer console. Each vehicle is meticulously crafted, right down to the precise arrangement of reflecting materials in its headlights. The game gives the best possible workout for the DualSense controller’s haptic capabilities. In a racing simulator, understanding the pressures to which the car is subjected at any one time is essential, and GT7 transforms this portable collection of vibration motors and resistive triggers into a remarkable communication tool.
