Microsoft is Raising Prices on Xbox Series Consoles in the US Again

Microsoft has announced that Xbox console prices in the United States are being raised yet again.

After already raising prices back in May of this year, pretty much every Xbox console will go up in price yet again starting on October 3. Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X Digital, and Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition will all be increasing in price. Prices on controllers and headsets will not change and prices outside the U.S. will remain as they are currently. Here are the new prices:

  • Xbox Series S 512GB: $399.99 (up $20 from $379.99)
  • Xbox Series S 1TB: $449.99 (up $20 from $429.99)
  • Xbox Series X Digital: $599.99 (up $50 from $549.99)
  • Xbox Series X: $649.99 (up $50 from $599.99)
  • Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Special Edition: $799.99 (up $70 from $729.99)

Why are prices going up again? Microsoft says it is “due to changes in the macroeconomic environment.” We’ve seen Sony and Nintendo both raising prices on their consoles as well so time will tell if both of them issue new increases.
