It appears that Sony Interactive Entertainment will no longer be bringing their major single-player games to PC according to a new report from Bloomberg.
The report claims that the company is shifting their strategy and will return to having their single-player games be console exclusive. The report claims that they have decided to scrap plans for a PC release of Ghost of Yotei and Saros although live service games like Marathon and Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls will still release on both PlayStation and PC.
The reason given appears to be because a number of Sony’s recent titles on PC sold quite poorly and that certain people within the company feel that bringing their titles to PC could risk damaging the console’s brand which could hurt sales of the PS5 and beyond.
It’s worth noting that Death Stranding 2 and Kena: Scars of Kosmora will still release on PC this year but those are likely because Sony partnered with outside studios to publish them and don’t have a say in the matter.
Sony has been releasing their games on PC since 2020 with titles such as God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man 1 & 2, Horizon: Zero Dawn and Horizon: Forbidden West, Days Gone, and many others making it onto the platform.
