The cost of gaming continues to rise as Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that PlayStation Plus prices are going up for new customers.
Starting on May 20, the price of one month and three month subscriptions are rising by $1 and $3. The reason given by the company is due to “ongoing market conditions.” Here are the new prices:
- One-Month Subscription – $10.99 / £7.99 / €9.99 (previously $9.99 / £6.99 / €8.99)
- Three-Month Subscription – $27.99 / £21.99 / €27.99 (previously $24.99 / £19.99 / €24.99)
The price increase will not apply to current subscribers, except in Turkey and India, unless the existing subscription changes or lapses.
While this won’t apply to many people it’s still unfortunate to see prices on hardware, software, and subscription services rise in the game industry.
